Freelance Interim Venue Manager
8 hours a week | £25 per hour | Freelance | Initial 6-month Freelance contract
Help us make the most of one of Stroud’s distinctive independent arts and community venues.
We're looking for an organised, proactive and people-friendly Venue Manager to keep Lansdown running smoothly, bring our part-time staff and freelance team together, and make sure things get followed through.
You’ll also have an enterprising eye for opportunities – helping us make better use of our spaces, strengthen bookings and earned income, and build useful local partnerships, while keeping Lansdown’s independent, creative and community character at its heart.
This is a varied hands-on coordination role for someone who enjoys working with people, can keep an overview of a busy venue and is confident taking responsibility for making things happen.
What you'll be doing
Coordinate the day-to-day running of Lansdown Hall & Gallery, bringing together our staff and freelance team and making sure operational matters are followed through. You'll maintain an overview of events, venue activity, buildings and health & safety, while working with the team and Trustees to strengthen bookings, earned income and local partnerships.
What we're looking for
A warm energetic and approachable person with experience of managing or coordinating people, strong organisational and people skills, who can combine Lansdown's grassroots creative ethos with sound operation and commercial judgement. You'll be practical, proactive and confident making things happen.
